Wesley Cole, 71, of Du Quoin, passed away at 3:50 A.M., Tuesday, December 21, 2004 at the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
Wesley had worked as a lineman for Illinois Power for forty-two years.  He was of the Protestant faith.  He was a member of IBEW Local 702 and he had owned Cole Cycle Center from 1970 until 1974.
He was born January 7, 1933 at Sparta, IL, the son of Wesley and Ruth (Mann) Cole Sr.
He married Catherine Balheimer on October 7, 1950 at Sparta, IL and she survives.
He is survived by his wife of Du Quoin, children - Sharon Snustad of Du Quoin, John Wesley Cole and wife Mildred of North Dakota, Dennis Cole and wife Marsha of Du Quoin, Diana Young of Du Quoin, Donald Cole and wife Susie of Du Quoin, and Shane Matthew Cole of Nashville, IL, three sisters - Geraldine Gardner of Percy, Patsy Jones of Coulterville and Virginia Owen of Chester, and thirty grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M., Friday, December 24, 2004 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Tommy Foster and Msgr. Harry Jerome officiating.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 P.M., Thursday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery at Du Quoin.
Friends may make memorials to the Sacred Heart School and will be accepted at the funeral home.
